The Unionsleden is 350 km long and stretches from Moss in Norway to Karlstad in Sweden. The route has been designed to give cyclists a great alround experience by combining nice roads, beautiful nature, good accommodation, good local food and selected sights along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>350 km in 7 stages through 2 countries<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The idea and its name Unionsleden got after the Norwegian\/Swedish Union, which was formed in Moss in 1814 and disbanded in Karlstad in 1905. Along the route there are sights related to its history. But you also will pass art galleries, a whisky distillery, farm shops and beautiful lock environments. If you want to leave your bike saddle once in a while, there are lots of other activities like boat trips, canoeing, hiking or fishing along the trail. A good night&#8217;s sleep is important, so you wake up with new energy for the coming day. I you want, you can cycle the Unionsleden or parts of it as an intense workout but we recommend taking your time. There is so much to see and experience along the trail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Infrastructure<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The route runs on a mix of low-traffic paved small roads, gravel roads and cycle paths. The map tool gives you good information about both substrate and level differences. Keep in mind that the range and distance between service points like restaurants and stores vary. Several accommodations offer food packages that you can take with you.
