It is a gravel road from Mangskog&#8217;s church in the direction of \u00c5mot and if you choose to drive around the entire lake, you turn right at the southern end of the lake towards Brokerud. There is an asphalted road that takes you through the landscape with nice meadows and views of Lake Mangen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">In the footsteps of the Rackstad colony<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>At the turn of the last century, several artists and craftsmen gathered around the beautiful lake Racken, a little north of Arvika. The sculptor Christian Eriksson inspired many of his artist friends and colleagues from Sweden and abroad to visit Arvika, and several of them then stayed here and settled around Lake Racken, and thus the so-called Racken Colony was formed.<br>N\u00e4stan l\u00e4ngs hela v\u00e4gen har du utsikt \u00f6ver sj\u00f6n och kan njuta av vackra vyer. However, the reward is a breathtaking view of lake Racken.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitvarmland.com\/arvika\/en\/activities\/hiking-2\/djupdalsleden\">Djupdalsleden<\/a> \u2013 7 kilometres<\/strong><br>The trail leads you through deep forests up to Djupdalsh\u00f6jden, where you have a good view over the area. Orange marking.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitvarmland.com\/arvika\/en\/activities\/hiking-2\/sotar-blixt-leden\">Sotar-Blixt leden<\/a> &#8211; 11 kilometres<\/strong><br>The trail is named after a well-known character who used to hike in the woods between Mangskog and Arvika. Continue towards Sulvik and turn left for a visit to the nature reserve Bergs kl\u00e4tt. Here there is an easily accessible trail of 1.2 kilometres, but also slightly longer trails that stretch over more hilly terrain. If it happens to be spring when you do this road trip, there is usually an abundance of spring flowers. You walk towards the lake where you can take a small break. In the area there are four resting areas, two shelters and three toilets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-atheme-component-cta atheme-wrapper\"><div class=\"atheme-components-cta--decoration-right\"><\/div><div class=\"atheme-components-cta--decoration-left\"><\/div><div class=\"atheme-components-cta\" style=\"height:600px;min-height:300px;background-image:url( https:\/\/www.visitvarmland.com\/arvika\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/03\/Bergs-Klatt-ang.jpg );background-size:cover;background-position:center center;background-attachment:scroll\"><div class=\"atheme-components-cta--overlay\"> <\/div><div class=\"atheme-components-cta--text\"><div><h3>Bergs kl\u00e4tt<\/h3><p><\/p><div class=\"atheme-components-cta--text-border\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Then drive back to road 172 again, and continue towards Sulvik. In Sulvik, turn right towards \u00c4lg\u00e5\/Glava. In \u00c4lg\u00e5 you will find the local heritage centre <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitvarmland.com\/arvika\/kultur-historia\/hus-kulturmiljoer\/alga-hembygdsgard\">\u00c4lg\u00e5 Hembygdsg\u00e5rd<\/a> where you can buy a coffee, and have a look at the museum that gives you an insight into the area&#8217;s history.<br>On the right side of the road the old nail forge <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitvarmland.com\/arvika\/kultur-historia\/hus-kulturmiljoer\/alga-spiksmedja\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.visitvarmland.com\/arvika\/kultur-historia\/hus-kulturmiljoer\/alga-spiksmedja\">\u00c4lg\u00e5 Spiksmedja<\/a> is situated. It is one of very few preserved nail forges in the Nordics.<br>After this stop you continue towards Glava. Here you can make a small detour over Semnebyn and visit the old farmhouse <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitvarmland.com\/arvika\/kultur-historia\/hus-kulturmiljoer\/kallarsgarden\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.visitvarmland.com\/arvika\/kultur-historia\/hus-kulturmiljoer\/kallarsgarden\">K\u00e4llarsg\u00e5rden<\/a>. The road through Semnebyn offers an almost idyllic experience. When you get out of Semnebyn, you continue towards Glava. Here you can make another detour and visit the former glassworks <a href=\"https:\/\/glavaglasbruk.org\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/glavaglasbruk.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Glava Glasbruk<\/a>, Here you can also find Caf\u00e9 Hyttan, which is open in July, and at that time you can also see art and craft exhibitions in the area. If you want to discover more of the small community, you can walk the two kilometres long cultural trail.<br>Now the journey continues towards the local heritage centre <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitvarmland.com\/arvika\/kultur-historia\/hus-kulturmiljoer\/glava-hembygdsgard\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.visitvarmland.com\/arvika\/kultur-historia\/hus-kulturmiljoer\/glava-hembygdsgard\">Glava Hembygdsg\u00e5rd<\/a> where there is a herb garden and a slate museum. If you have brought your own picnic basket, you can take a nice break here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-atheme-component-cta atheme-wrapper\"><div class=\"atheme-components-cta--decoration-right\"><\/div><div class=\"atheme-components-cta--decoration-left\"><\/div><div class=\"atheme-components-cta\" style=\"height:600px;min-height:300px;background-image:url( https:\/\/www.visitvarmland.com\/arvika\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/02\/landsvagskant-scaled.jpg );background-size:cover;background-position:center center;background-attachment:scroll\"><div class=\"atheme-components-cta--overlay\"> <\/div><div class=\"atheme-components-cta--text\"><div><h3>A nice gravel road close to the local heritage centre in Glava<\/h3><p><\/p><div class=\"atheme-components-cta--text-border\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>A few hundred metres from the local heritage centre you will find <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitvarmland.com\/arvika\/kultur-historia\/hus-kulturmiljoer\/gladisvall\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.visitvarmland.com\/arvika\/kultur-historia\/hus-kulturmiljoer\/gladisvall\">Gladisvall<\/a> &#8211; a nice and peaceful mediaeval burial place. According to tradition, there has been a church here since 1131. It is also said that a monastery has been located here, because several pilgrim routes converged in Glava. The journey continues and now you drive on towards S\u00f6lje. Here you can visit both the caf\u00e9 <a href=\"https:\/\/soljegard.se\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/soljegard.se\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">S\u00f6lje G\u00e5rd<\/a> and the local heritage centre <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitvarmland.com\/arvika\/kultur-historia\/hus-kulturmiljoer\/solje-bygdegard-och-museer-samt-republiken-asen\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.visitvarmland.com\/arvika\/kultur-historia\/hus-kulturmiljoer\/solje-bygdegard-och-museer-samt-republiken-asen\">S\u00f6lje Bygdeg\u00e5rd<\/a>.<br>Keep driving over the bridge Skas\u00e5sbron, which is V\u00e4rmland&#8217;s longest bridge (610 metres), and enjoy a fantastic view of the lake Glafsfjorden. Continue towards Kl\u00e4ssbol where you can visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.klassbols.se\/fabriken-och-butiken-i-klassbol\/?_gl=1*utu6vk*_up*MQ..&amp;gclid=Cj0KCQjwncWvBhD_ARIsAEb2HW9TCBnW8MkjoFPwIUMs5mDHSga9PXn0TvFB20JjLp1en10LD6wj1TwaAmIuEALw_wcB\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.klassbols.se\/fabriken-och-butiken-i-klassbol\/?_gl=1*utu6vk*_up*MQ..&amp;gclid=Cj0KCQjwncWvBhD_ARIsAEb2HW9TCBnW8MkjoFPwIUMs5mDHSga9PXn0TvFB20JjLp1en10LD6wj1TwaAmIuEALw_wcB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kl\u00e4ssbols Linnev\u00e4veri<\/a> &#8211; supplier of table linen for both the Swedish court, all Swedish embassies and for the Nobel Prize banquet. If you are hungry, you can take the opportunity to eat something good in the caf\u00e9 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kaffekvarnen.se\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.kaffekvarnen.se\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kvarnen<\/a>. Well-fed and possibly with a nice linen cloth in your luggage, you now drive back towards Arvika, but on the way you must not miss the tin and silversmith <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitvarmland.com\/arvika\/design-shopping\/industri-tillverkning\/schutzers-tenn-och-silversmide\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.visitvarmland.com\/arvika\/design-shopping\/industri-tillverkning\/schutzers-tenn-och-silversmide\">Sch\u00fctzers Tenn- och Silversmide <\/a>&nbsp;where you can find everything from utility items to beautiful jewellery. Once in Arvika, you can end your day by going up to the viewing tower At the viewing tower at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitvarmland.com\/arvika\/aktiviteter\/vandra\/storkasberget\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.visitvarmland.com\/arvika\/aktiviteter\/vandra\/storkasberget\">Storkasberget<\/a>. From the tower you have a breathtaking view of Arvika and can watch the sunset over lake Glafsfjorden. If you have brought your own firewood and something to grill, you can fix a well-deserved dinner at the fireplace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-atheme-component-cta atheme-wrapper\"><div class=\"atheme-components-cta--decoration-right\"><\/div><div class=\"atheme-components-cta--decoration-left\"><\/div><div class=\"atheme-components-cta\" style=\"height:600px;min-height:300px;background-image:url( https:\/\/www.visitvarmland.com\/arvika\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/07\/2748_kikare_storkasberget.jpg );background-size:cover;background-position:center center;background-attachment:scroll\"><div class=\"atheme-components-cta--overlay\"> <\/div><div class=\"atheme-components-cta--text\"><div><h3>At the viewing tower of Storkasberget<\/h3><p><\/p><div class=\"atheme-components-cta--text-border\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Take a trip to the Glaskogen Nature Reserve!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Many roads lead to &#8230; Lenungshammar, which is the heart and hub of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.glaskogen.se\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.glaskogen.se\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Glaskogen Nature Reserve<\/a>.<br>From the church in Glava, there is a 19 kilometres long asphalted and hilly road to the info centre and the campsite in Lenunghammar. Here you pass wonderful green meadows and drive through forests and beautiful nature until you finally arrive at the lake \u00d6vre Gla and Lenungshammar.You can also choose the beautiful road that runs along route 172 via Sigfridstorp along \u00d6vre Gla to the same final destination. Make a stop along the winding dirt road for a dip in the lake, or take a break to just enjoy the view.<br>A third option to get to the heart of Glaskogen is the road over Glava Glasbruk and Halvardsn\u00e4s. From Glava you follow the sign to<a href=\"https:\/\/glavaglasbruk.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Glava Glasbruk<\/a> \u2013 an idyllic, small, former glass works site. Today there is a museum with objects from the history of the glassworks, which can be booked if you are interested. Here is also Caf\u00e9 Hyttan, which is open in July, and then you can also see art and craft exhibitions in the area. If you want to discover more of the small community, you can walk the two kilometres long cultural trail. The journey then continues via the gravel road over Halvardsn\u00e4s, where in several places you come close to the reserve&#8217;s largest lake Stora Gla. If you have time, we recommend a short hike up the hill at Halvardsn\u00e4s where there is a fantastic view!<br>During the summer you can enjoy a good cup of coffee and a food break in the cosy<a href=\"https:\/\/www.glaskogen.se\/cafe-carl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Caf\u00e9 Carl<\/a> which is located in Lenunghammar. Drive from Arvika and choose road 175 towards Kl\u00e4ssbol. When you arrive at Kl\u00e4ssbol, we can recommend a visit to the linen weaving mill &#8211;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.klassbols.se\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kl\u00e4ssbols Linnev\u00e4veri<\/a> and a coffee break at the cosy caf\u00e9<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kaffekvarnen.se\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Kvarnen<\/a>. If it&#8217;s hot and you need to cool off, you can take a dip in lake Glafsfjorden at the swimming area. When you drive back towards Arvika, you choose the road towards H\u00f6gerud, Ingersbyn and Lerhol. Here you drive on an asphalted road, past green meadows and through the lovely Swedish countryside. You can also take the gravel road over Bofasterud and Pr\u00e4sth\u00f6g to Ingersbyn as an alternative. Here, if possible, is an even more rural feeling. In Lerhol you turn left back to Arvika again. You can make a stop at <a href=\"https:\/\/arvikagk.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Arvika Golf Club<\/a> .
