Our history begins at the Klarälven river
The Klarälven river has been important for our area throughout all times. It has been many people’s livelihood and its forces have driven sawmills, iron hammers, glassworks, paper mills, and power plants. The river has also been an important transport route for both people, goods, and timber. Meet our history at the old ferry landing in Edeby, at the Power Station in Deje, or at the locks in Forshaga.
World-class fishing
The river offers a varied fishing experience in both fast-flowing and calm waters. If you’re lucky, you can catch perch, pike, grayling, ide, burbot, salmon, roach, tench, or trout. Forshagaforsen is known for its salmon and trout fishing and is visited every year by enthusiasts from around the world.
Follow the stream
By paddling, you get excitingly close to the nature and wildlife in and around the river. Follow its winding path from the great forests in the north, through open landscapes all the way down to Vänern. Perhaps you’ll encounter a beaver working on its lodge, see a pike strike in the reeds, or an elk drinking by the shore.
