On the Klar\u00e4lvsbanan, you travel from an open agricultural landscape in the south to the large forests in the north. All the way from Karlstad to Uddeholm, you have ninety kilometers of car-free asphalt. About 34 kilometers of the trail go through Forshaga municipality, passing Skived, Forshaga, Deje, Edeby, and Ols\u00e4ter on its way to Rans\u00e4ter. Your constant companion is the Klar\u00e4lven river, and from the two bridges that cross the river in our municipality, you get a stunning view.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
Inspiring art, music, animals, nature, common and unusual flowers, ancient monuments, local history, fishing, or churches are some of the things you encounter along the Klar\u00e4lvsbanan through Forshaga municipality. And food and coffee, of course! If you get hungry, there are cafes and restaurants to choose from, or find your own perfect spot for a picnic. The Klar\u00e4lvsbanan was a railway line built in the late 1800s. It was a 180-kilometer long narrow-gauge railway line. The then Uddeholm Company was the main owner and they named the railway line NKlJ-banan, Nordmark – Klar\u00e4lven Railways.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
Banvakt Karl’s kabyss is a monument to the railway and once served as the watchman’s, Karl Andersson, resting hut. Nowadays, it is a cozy resting place for those traveling on the Klar\u00e4lvsbanan. Inside the small resting hut, you can buy nails from the old railway tracks. On the walls, there are photographs from the past.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
