Head out into the Kristinehamn archipelago<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Getting here is easy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the town centre, it\u2019s just a few kilometres to V\u00e5l\u00f6sundet and the waterfront promenade that stretches all the way out to the sculpture by Pablo Picasso and the vast horizon of Lake V\u00e4nern. The route follows the water and is just as perfect for a bike ride as it is for a leisurely walk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Along the way, you\u2019ll find swimming spots, a winter sauna, playgrounds, restaurants and caf\u00e9s open during the summer season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is not about doing a lot \u2013 it\u2019s about being close to Lake V\u00e4nern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Islands and places to discover<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

One of the most popular excursion islands is V\u00e5l\u00f6n. It\u2019s easy to rent a kayak or a motorboat and make your way here. You\u2019ll be welcomed by the Three Islands Trail, leading you across bridges between islands, with smooth cliffs for swimming, child-friendly sandy beaches and forests scented with sun-warmed pine. It\u2019s an island that\u2019s easy to fall in love with \u2013 whether you\u2019re visiting with family or simply taking the day as it comes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
