Borgviks Gård
When you arrive in the area called Borgvik, you end up in a magical and peaceful environment. Nestled in the lush greenery are old stone buildings and there is also Borgviks Gård, which opened in June 2023. In one of Värmland’s largest barns with its 100 metres in length, you will find the restaurant Matbruket Borgvik, art gallery, farm shop and café.
At Matbruket you can experience modern food with a Värmland finesse in the rustic environment with homemade wooden tables and large windows overlooking the rural surroundings. Here you can eat both street food with Värmland kebabs or a slightly finer à la carte menu.
There is also an art gallery run by Galleri Mats Bergman, and Borgviks Gård’s own shop sells outdoor items, clothes, organic Borgvik honey and more.

Bacceria
Out on Hammarö you will find Bacceria, which is a pizzeria but not just any pizzeria. Or how about their seasonal pizza this autumn with chanterelles from Värmland, parmesan cheese, smoked cheese and thyme? Or the Patata pizza, which is decorated with thinly sliced potatoes, crème fraîche, Italian mozzarella, parmesan cheese and some fresh rosemary. These are just two examples of their well-balanced creations that are guaranteed to give guests an exceptionally flavoursome pizza experience.

Dumplings in Kil
A somewhat hidden gem can be found if you visit Dumplings in Kil. With a simple but artistic interior, you get the chance to experience really good dumplings that make people travel from far away to enjoy. But another popular dish is Gong Bao chicken, which is a typical dish from Sichuan province in China. It is, of course, cooked with Sichuan pepper, which is sent to the owner directly from China by his sister.
The owner is also artistic and has painted his version of the Girl with a Pearl Earring, a famous work of art originally painted by Vermeer in 1665. There are also other paintings and photographs on the walls to add to the special atmosphere.

Bakgården
When you arrive at Bakgården, you’ll be greeted by a familiar and relaxed atmosphere. At Kasernhöjden in Karlstad, you’ll find this little oasis where you’ll probably be knocked out by their super yummy plant-based pizzas with wild picked mushrooms. I’m pretty sure the description of Forest Svamp will make your mouth water with the following flavours; a base of garlic mayonnaise, pickled red peppers, red onions, wild picked mushrooms, blackcurrants and finally the house cashew pesto.
And if the food wasn’t reason enough to fall in love, they have a huge list of events. There are concerts with bands from Värmland, music quizzes, stand-up and DJ evenings. Come here and hang out for an evening and get addicted to the wonderful atmosphere!

Kils Golf restaurang
Kils Golf Club is a rural golf resort beautifully situated in the countryside overlooking Lake Fryken. There you will find Kils Golf Restaurant with glass sections on three sides of the house and a large veranda that gives guests a beautiful view of Fryken.
The lunch menu consists of 2 different main courses and in addition there is soup, homemade bread, a large salad buffet, coffee and dessert. From here it is very difficult to leave hungry, you understand. The fact that their guests also repeatedly praise their high level of service and pleasant treatment is another reason to go there for a cosy dining experience.
