sights and activities
Discover culture and craft at Kulturcentrum Berget, a perfect day trip for families! Have a fika, visit the workers living quarters from the 1870s and walk the beatiful trails in Sveafallen.
At Kulturcentrum Berget, you can explore both history and modern creativity. The centre is set in charming workers’ cottages from the 1870s, now home to a cosy café, artisan workshops, and small shops. Talented craftspeople create and sell handmade items like woven rugs, woodwork, clothing, and painted art.
Enjoy a traditional Swedish “fika” (coffee and cake break) at Café Berget. Sit indoors in a homely early 20th-century setting or outside in the sunshine. Check the café’s opening hours on Kulturcentrum Berget’s website.
Next to the café, you’ll find a small museum showing how families lived in the 1870s. When open, the old blacksmith’s workshop lets you see how metalwork was done in the past. In the same building, the bakery still makes bread the old-fashioned way.
The Clothing Museum – also known as “Nostalgivinden” – is perfect for anyone curious about fashion history or looking to relive memories. Admire beautiful garments and stage costumes from the 1920s to the 1960s. Please note: the museum is upstairs and not wheelchair accessible.
Berget offers something for everyone – from the youngest to the oldest.
At the edge of the centre, you’ll find friendly animals like sheep, chickens, rabbits, and ducks in outdoor pens.
Children love Svingelskogen, an indoor forest filled with playful surprises. Meet characters like Långhoppa Hare and Isak Isbjörn, crawl through a secret tunnel, or draw your own pictures. You can even rent Svingelskogen for unique and memorable birthday parties.
Take a walk through Sveafallen and learn about forest animals and Ice Age history. In summer, join a quiz walk or play nature bingo every Tuesday and Thursday from 13:00 to 15:00. The walk starts at the big tent at Kulturcentrum Berget – children must be accompanied by an adult.
Visitors with disabilities and a parking permit can drive all the way up to Berget and park nearby. Signs show which paths at Sveafallen are accessible. Ramps are available at the café, toilets, and several buildings.

Veboa (local dialect for “wood shed”) once stored firewood for the many families living at Berget. Today, it’s a bright and spacious hall perfect for weddings, naming ceremonies, birthday parties, art exhibitions, and more. A small kitchen with stove and fridge makes it ideal for many occasions.
