Every year thousands of people travel to Arvika to experience the life people used to live here back in the day. There's a different theme for each day of the week. Here you experience old, traditional work in a genuine environment. There is activity in the buildings and, among other things, there is a trading post, post office, pottery, weaving shed, village school, soldiers' camp with animals, and a paper mill where paper is made from rags. Here you can see the work of a coal mile, blacksmithing and agricultural work, and much more. The women show, among other things, how to prepare flax, card wool, spin, weave, bake, and other chores from the past.
During the event, the children's creative joy is free. The restaurant is open and, of course, this is what is served: Nävgröt med fläsk (Porridge with pork).
