Fishing in Lake Vänern

Lake Vänern is the largest lake in Western Europe and offers outstanding fishing opportunities. The lake is home to 35 different fish species, including pike-perch, pike, whitefish and salmon. It is also home to the famous Gullspång salmon – the world’s largest lake-dwelling salmon, which can weigh over 20 kg. No fishing licence is required in Lake Vänern, but current fishing regulations must be followed.

Year-round shooting practice

At Vildmarken Shooting and Event Centre in Grums, you will find Sweden’s first and largest shooting cinema for hunting practice. A 12-metre projection screen creates a realistic training environment where both beginners and experienced hunters can develop their skills all year round. The facility also features a modern 50-metre sighting tunnel with digital target systems for precision shooting and rifle calibration.

Adjacent to the centre you will also find a large dog exercise area, the Viltköket restaurant, and a shop offering hunting clothing, equipment and outdoor gear.
