The ensemble consists of three of Sweden’s leading musicians, presenting a highly varied program that, of course, includes music by Filipstad’s — and the world’s — only Professor of Swedish Folk Music.

Per Bäcker (Hagfors/Lund). A well-known saxophonist and clarinetist who has performed with artists such as Tommy Körberg, Claes Malmberg, Anders Berglund, Nils Lindberg, the Allhelgona Motet Choir, Michael Brecker, and the Malmö Symphony Orchestra. He has been engaged by Malmö Opera in productions including West Side Story, Porgy and Bess, Les Misérables, The Producers, and Miss Saigon. Per performs across a wide range of musical genres and in recent years has premiered several compositions by Kjell Andersson and Johan Magnus Sjöberg for saxophone, organ, choir, and orchestra. He also leads Bo Bistedt’s Orchestra.
Hans Delander (Söderhamn/Malmö). His first piano teacher was Greta Nord, who also taught the legendary pianist Jan Johansson. He studied at the School of Music in Örebro and was employed as a pianist with the Norrbotten Big Band for several years. He has performed with artists such as Jan Allan, Svante Turesson, Don Byas, and Tim Hagans, among others. Hans is regarded as one of the region’s most versatile pianists. Today, he teaches and works as a freelance musician primarily in southern Sweden and can be heard in a wide range of contexts — from the Malmö Symphony Orchestra to jazz clubs and pubs.
