Lakeside Beaches

The Forshaga area offers several public beaches for sunny days, swimming, and relaxation by the water. Which one will become your favourite?

Abborrtjärn

In Forshaga, you’ll find the charming little swimming area at Abborrtjärn. The water is shallow for a long distance from the shore, and there is plenty of shade along the beach – ideal for families with children. There is also a barbecue area and a dry toilet. A 1.5-kilometre walking trail circles the lake. You can also continue around the nearby Sörtjärn, making the walk 2.5 kilometres in total.

Västra Örten

In Mölnbacka, you’ll find the swimming area at Västra Örten. The lake is surrounded by beautiful scenery, and the beach is no exception. Facilities include a jetty, changing rooms, and a dry toilet. Near the swimming area, the 5-kilometre hiking trail known as Kulturstigen passes by. The trail features 15 information boards that guide you through a historical journey.

Skivtjärn

Just outside Deje, you’ll find our largest swimming area, which is also the most visited during the summer. Here you’ll find a sandy beach, a jetty, and a large grassy area perfect for both picnics and beach games. The site also includes an accessible toilet and a ramp into the water, changing rooms, and a barbecue area. During parts of the summer, there is also a kiosk on site. Right next to the swimming area is Skidstugan, with several exercise trails ranging from 2.5 kilometres up to 10 kilometres.

Visten

At the swimming area by Lake Visten, you can easily spend an entire day by the lakeside. The site offers grassy areas where you can spread out a picnic blanket. The water is shallow with a sandy bottom, and there are both changing rooms and a dry toilet. In several places around the lake, you can enjoy nature, take a swim, go for a walk, or fish. Nearby, you’ll find Doktorudden with boat moorings, and Arnästjärn, which features a cosy walking trail around the lake along with picnic tables.

Swimming with dogs

Dogs are welcome to swim in rivers, lakes, and other waterways. However, at public swimming areas listed above, dogs must be kept on a leash and are not allowed in the water.

Safety

All our swimming areas are equipped with lifebuoys – do not hesitate to use them if needed.

We test the water quality several times every summer, and you can check the current water quality at havochvatten.se.

Before each swimming season, we carry out diving inspections at all public swimming areas. The purpose is to locate and remove any dangerous objects hidden beneath the surface. To avoid accidents, you should still check what may be beneath the water before diving in.

Klarälven

The proximity to Klarälven is wonderful, but Klarälven is not an official public swimming area, and we encourage you to be cautious.

Arnästjärn

We advise against swimming in Arnästjärn. Since the lake has been used for fishing for many years, there may be hooks and other sharp objects on the bottom. The swimming ban applies to both people and dogs.
