Beautiful and well-preserved deciduous forest area east of Lake Ömmeln. Yttre Hedane harbors rich meadow flora. During June-July, the meadows are most beautiful. No less than 13 different species of trees grow in the reserve. Hazel, elm, ash, lime, maple and oak are common elements. Two farms have been found within the reserve.The oldest is mentioned as tax added croft in the earth's books back in the 1580s. Length: app 2 km.

The reserve was formed to preserve an old agricultural landscape with remnants of leafy meadows and traces of past farming and to give the natural meadow flora and leafy vegetation an opportunity to survive.

Drive to Åmål and then road 164 towards Bengtsfors. At the lake Nedre Kalven, a road goes north to the reserve. The reserve is signposted from route 164 with a white sign. Alternative route, from Svaneholm: drive southeast towards Åmål. Drive into Dalsland and then turn right at Mo church. At road 164, turn right towards Bengtsfors.
