The Velen fisheries management area is located in scenic surroundings northwest of Torsby and offers fishing in lakes, rivers, and forest tarns. The area is suitable both for those seeking peaceful nature experiences and for visitors wanting to try their luck in several different types of waters.
The area includes, among others, Velen, Grundsjön, Röjdälven/Kilen, Kvarntjärn, and the Torsby lakes. Many of the waters offer good fishing for large pike, zander, and perch, while some tarns and waterways also contain trout and char.
For those who want to try Put & Take fishing, Kvarntjärn offers stocked rainbow trout.
