The artwork at Kyrkogatan 5 was inaugurated in autumn 2022 and consists of five images created by Albin Liljestrand. The motifs include both local views from Sysslebäck and Ransby as well as imaginative creations and characters from the artist’s own visual world.
An artist from northern Värmland
Albin Liljestrand is based in Ransby and works in a variety of artistic styles. For the artwork in Torsby, he chose motifs that showcase the breadth of his artistic expression, combining landscapes, fantasy, and narrative art. Many people may also recognise his artwork from Torsby Municipality’s mobile library bus, which has featured designs created by Albin since 2018.
A colourful addition to the townscape
The artworks are displayed on the wall below Nya Torget and help create a vibrant and inspiring environment in central Torsby. Thanks to their location, they are easily accessible to both residents and visitors who wish to discover public art during a walk through the town centre.
