In 2017, Torsby took part in Artscape, Scandinavia’s largest street art festival. During the festival, artists from several parts of the world visited the town and created large mural paintings on buildings in the centre. The result is a permanent exhibition that has transformed parts of Torsby into an open-air art gallery.
Discover the artworks on foot
The murals are located at several sites throughout central Torsby and are easy to explore during a walk through the town.
The artworks on display include:
Biografen Stjärnan, Järnvägsgatan 2: Shalak Attack and Bruno Smoky – two murals on the building’s gable wall.
Kyrkogatan 5: Super-G (Robert Forsberg from Karlstad) – mural on the side of the building.
Biografgatan 1: Japanese artist duo Kami and Sasu (Hitotzuki) – mural on the façade facing the pedestrian street.
An open-air gallery all year round
Artscape Torsby gives visitors the opportunity to experience international contemporary art directly in the urban environment. The artworks can be viewed around the clock and offer a unique way to discover central Torsby while contributing to the town’s cultural life and public spaces.
