AUTUMN HIKING
Autumn is a wonderful season to enjoy the great outdoors! Magical colours, fresh, clean air and peaceful silence! In and around Arvika, there are many kilometres of wonderful hiking trails to explore – suitable for experienced hikers as well as families and beginners. To adapt your hike for children, for example, you can take the summit trail on Storkasberget with questions and activities for children, try geocaching or download a nature bingo game online. A well-deserved break with a delicious snack and a barbecue of sausages, marshmallows, and other treats provides energy and turns your outing into an exciting experience close to nature.
Some tips for your autumn hike:
- Glaskogens Nature Reserve – Värmland’s largest nature reserve, with 300 km of beautiful hiking trails for both short and long walks, as well as shelters and picnic areas. The area is a wonderful outdoor destination and a real gem for nature lovers.
- Stömneleden – The Silent Trail – a beautiful 17 km hiking trail taking you from Stömne Nature Reserve to Gängene in Glaskogen Nature Reserve. Stömneleden offers long stretches where you can walk undisturbed and simply take in the surrounding nature. Take your time and relax!
- Finnvägen– this HIKING VÄRMLAND trail is a beautiful wilderness hike between Fredros and Mitandersfors.
- Bergs Klätt naturreservat– a lovely destination for the whole family in autumn. There are picnic areas, hiking trails and a wheelchair-accessible trail.
- Finnleden Östra – a HIKING VÄRMLAND trail offering 19 km of hiking through varied terrain, along forest tracks and paths in the woods north of Mangskogs Church.
- Walking close to town – beautiful nature walks close to the town centre.
GUIDED WILDERNESS EXPERIENCES WITH OUTSIDE ADVENTURE
Together with a professional guide, you can discover the forest trails, listen to nature’s own stories, and learn more about the rich flora and fauna, as well as the area’s cultural history. TOWN WALK & SCULPTURE WALK
Discover Arvika at your own pace by following three fascinating walks through central Arvika. At Arvika Tourist Center, you can pick up a leaflet with a tour of the town, and all three walks are available as interactive maps on naturkartan.se. The Town Walk takes you on a lovely stroll through the centre of Arvika and tells you more about the town’s history and architecture. On the Sculpture Walk, you can discover more than 20 sculptures around central Arvika – an exciting art walk where you will encounter works by artists including Christian Eriksson, Liss Eriksson, Hermann Reijers and Liv Due, among many others. The Architecture Walk takes you past some of the town’s most interesting and beautiful buildings and places. ARVIKA SIMHALL
The swimming centre offers plenty of fun for the whole family: race down the 55-metre water slide, jump from the diving tower, splash and play in the adventurous Pirate Cove, swim lengths in the large pool or relax in the accessible relaxation area with sauna and heated multi-purpose pool. DISCGOLF
Playing disc golf is an active and enjoyable way to make the most of your time in nature, and it is suitable for the whole family. There are three disc golf courses in Arvika.

PUMP TRACK
A world-class pump track can be found in Jössefors, 8 km west of Arvika. Ride it by bike, scooter, inline skates, skateboard or wheelchair. The pump track is 215 metres long and features large berms, a jump section and hidden transfers for advanced cyclists.

ARVIKA SPORTS CENTRE
Would you like to try something new? Looking for an activity for the family or a group of friends? At Arvika Sports Centre, you’ll find a variety of courts and facilities for different ball sports, all located in Arvika harbour with views over Kyrkviken. Here you can play POP Tennis, futnet, cornhole, floorball, street basketball, pickleball, table tennis, padel, outdoor curling and badminton. The lounge is a great place to socialise, take a break, enjoy a coffee and cake or have a barbecue. Equipment for the different sports is available to borrow at the centre.

FISHING – FOR EVERYONE
Head out on a fishing trip before winter arrives! There are many beautiful fishing spots in the area, several of which are adapted for people with reduced mobility. At lake Övre Gla in Sigfridstorp, in Glaskogen Nature Reserve, you’ll find an accessible fishing spot suitable for everyone, with several jetties and a lovely barbecue area. KLÄSSBOLS LINNEVÄVERI
Klässbols Linen Weavery is Scandinavia’s only damask linen weaving mill and one of Värmland’s most visited tourist attractions. The weaving mill is a supplier to the Swedish Royal Court, the Swedish embassies and the Nobel Banquet. Weaving traditions have been kept alive at Klässbols Linen Weavery since the early 1920s, making it a place where tradition meets modern design.

ARVIKA VEHICLE MUSEUM
Nostalgia at its finest! Housed in the beautifully restored former Thermia foundry, dating from 1923, Arvika Vehicle Museum showcases gleaming chrome, historic vehicles, and surprising details – from vintage cars to wood-burning stoves. RACKSTAD MUSEUM
Step into a world of art and creativity at Rackstad Museum, where a unique part of Swedish art history is presented in a beautiful historic setting. Discover the permanent exhibition The Nordic Light – an exhibition about the Rackstad artists’ colony and the Eriksson Brothers’ Furniture Workshop. Their magnificent paintings are displayed alongside unique crafts and design, furniture, ceramics, prints, textiles and metalwork. From 26 September to 8 November, Rackstad Museum hosts the Autumn Salon, with temporary art by artists and creative talent from Värmland.
