Historic area in Kristinehamn
Kristinehamns Hembygdsgård is a historic local heritage area with old buildings, local history and green park surroundings. The area includes several red-painted wooden buildings from different periods, such as Norrgården, Lundbomsgården, Mjölnargården and Soldatbostället.
There is also a mill setting, old farm environments, grassy areas, small wooded areas and a stream running through the site. This makes the heritage area a place to visit for those who want to discover Kristinehamn’s history in a calm outdoor setting.
Buildings and local history
Several of the buildings at the heritage area once stood in other parts of Kristinehamn and the surrounding area. Lundbomsgården is furnished as a 19th-century middle-class home, while Norrgården is a 19th-century building that was previously located in central Kristinehamn.
The area also includes historic settings connected to milling, soldier housing, crafts and local association life. Kristinehamns Hembygdsförening works to preserve and develop the cultural environment of the site.
