A cup of coffee, hot chocolate or tea, raspberry cordial, small beer and stronger drinks – there are many drinks that have been part of our lives. But what do you know about their history and the traditions and customs surrounding them?
Have you ever drunk from a health spring? What do you know about the history of coffee? What was used as a substitute for coffee during the war? How did the Vikings make malt-based drinks? What alcoholic drinks have been enjoyed throughout history? Why does Sweden have a state-owned alcohol retailer? What is a Swedish fika? Did people drink differently at castles and in simple homes? And what is a punchveranda, a veranda traditionally used for serving punch?
The exhibition is surrounded by historic photographs from the rich collection of the Kristinehamn Bildarkiv. Lennart Karlsson, a private collector from Molkom, has also lent objects from his collection to the museum this summer.
