Lake Skagern, south of Kristinehamn, is one of Sweden’s richest sport fishing lakes. Here you can catch perch, zander, pike, trout, burbot and Arctic char.
The fishing area includes: Stora Skagern and Lilla Skagern, connected by a navigable channel. Fishing must take place at least 200 meters from shore and 100 meters from larger islands. See map on iFiske.

Skagern offers excellent opportunities for pike, zander, perch, trout, burbot and Arctic char. The lake is deep and clear – great for trolling, spinning and vertical jigging.
📌 Key rules:
Zander protection period: April 15 – June 15
All trout and salmon must be released
Perch: max 38 cm (max 10/day)
Pike: 50–75 cm (max 2/day)
Zander: 50–70 cm (max 4/day)
Trolling allowed (up to 10 rods/boat)
